Are you surprised by Peter Wilt’s departure from the Red Stars? – Kristin Owens, USA
Four years ago I told Gary Weaver (the Red Stars owner) that Peter Wilt was available and suggested that he would be the perfect choice to lead the Chicago franchise.
Today, I’m very surprised by Wilt’s departure. He’s an excellent soccer executive, knows the Chicago sports scene inside out and his absence will leave a dent in the Red Stars ability to attract corporate dollars. One season is not enough for anyone to make their impact and in my opinion Wilt should have stayed.
